This short story has the purpose of giving incentive to the study of life and work of the Croatian painter Đuro Topolovac (1946-1990). I am not expert enough to be able to judge whether Topolovac was a brilliant painter, or just a moderate one, or even a poor one, but I only know that I liked his paintings, maybe also because we were from the same region and friends. And I know that his case may serve as a proof to those who believe in art,to those who believe in destiny, and to those who believe in the connection between art and destiny.
